Solutions — Tutoring Marketplace

Launch your own tutoring marketplace

Preply, italki and Superprof all run on the same core mechanics: a public tutor catalog, self-service booking, instant online payment and an admin back office. eTalk.ai gives you those same mechanics under your own brand and your own domain — so you can open a domestic or niche marketplace without building a platform, hiring a development team or managing hosting.

White-label · Your domain · Your payment gateway · Your commission

The opportunity

The global platforms leave two gaps open

Worldwide marketplaces are built for the average case. That is exactly why local and specialised marketplaces keep finding room next to them.

A domestic marketplace

One country, one curriculum, one language of support. Students pay in their own currency with the payment methods they actually use, tutors are vetted against local qualifications, and everything from school terms to exam boards matches what parents already know.

A niche marketplace

One subject or one audience, covered properly: exam prep, music, chess, coding for kids, a single language pair, professional certification. A narrow catalog is far easier to fill with good tutors and far easier to rank for than a general directory.

Owning the relationship

On somebody else’s marketplace, the tutors and students belong to the platform, the commission is set by the platform and the rules can change overnight. On your own, you set the commission, you hold the data, and the brand students remember is yours.

Build vs. launch

You do not need to build the platform

The usual route to a marketplace is a discovery phase, a development team, a year of building, and then hosting, monitoring, security patches and bug fixes for as long as the business exists. eTalk.ai is that product, already built and already running in production for schools in several countries.

Build timelines are indicative and depend on scope. Migration support is available if you already have tutors, students and lesson history in another system or in spreadsheets.

What is inside

Everything a marketplace needs, on day one

These are the modules your marketplace runs on. All of them are already built, already integrated with each other, and already branded as yours.

01

Public tutor catalog

A searchable, indexable catalog of your tutors, hosted on your own domain. Each tutor gets a profile page with photo, intro video, subjects, levels, languages spoken, rate, availability and student ratings.

  • Filters by subject, level, language, price and time slot
  • Profile pages that build SEO for your brand, not somebody else’s
  • Tutors keep their own profile and availability up to date
02

Self-booking for students

A student finds a tutor, sees genuine open availability in their own time zone, books a trial or a package and pays — without an administrator in the loop. Booking, rescheduling and cancellation all follow the rules you configure.

  • One-to-one lessons and group classes
  • Single lessons, packages and recurring weekly slots
  • Cancellation windows and no-show policy enforced automatically
03

Instant online payments

Stripe is supported out of the box, and other gateways can be connected for markets where a domestic provider is what students expect. Payment happens at the moment of booking, so lessons are funded before they are taught.

  • Three-wallet model: student wallet, tutor wallet, company wallet
  • Commission split between tutor and company set by you
  • Top-ups, refunds, credits and tutor payouts all tracked
04

Admin scheduling management

A single timetable across every tutor, class and location. Your team can create, move, reassign or cancel lessons, run recurring schedules and settle attendance disputes without touching a spreadsheet.

  • Attendance, completed, cancelled and no-show statuses
  • Zoom meetings generated automatically, with recordings attached
  • Works for live online, in-person and blended delivery
05

Finance module and P&L reporting

Every transaction on the platform is recorded and categorised: lesson payments, top-ups, commission, tutor payouts, refunds and expenses. From that record the platform generates a profit and loss report for any period you choose.

  • Revenue, cost of delivery and margin, by period
  • Breakdown by tutor, subject, group and currency
  • Export for your accountant or bookkeeping system
06

Mini-CRM for requests, students and tutors

Every enquiry that arrives through the catalog or a signup form is captured with its source, then moves through a pipeline until it becomes a paying student. Students and tutors each have a full record behind them.

  • Request pipeline with UTM source tracking
  • Student records: contact details, balance, lesson history, notes
  • Tutor records and a self-service onboarding wizard for new applicants
07

Ticket system

Students and tutors raise support tickets from inside their own account rather than emailing an inbox nobody owns. Tickets are assigned, tracked through statuses and kept as a thread attached to the person who raised them.

  • Ticket queue with assignment and status
  • Full history visible next to the student or tutor record
  • In-app chat with your admin team alongside it
08

Automation and notifications

The routine messages that keep a marketplace running go out on their own: booking confirmations, lesson reminders, cancellations, low balance warnings and payment receipts — in-app and by email, from your own address.

  • Reminders one hour and five minutes before a lesson
  • Email templates branded as your school
  • Each user controls which notifications they receive
09

Multi-language, every time zone, multi-currency

Built for marketplaces that cross borders — or for one country that simply has more than one language. Times are always shown in the viewer’s own time zone, so a tutor in Toronto and a student in Kyiv see the same lesson correctly.

  • Interface available in multiple languages
  • Automatic time zone conversion for every user
  • Prices, wallets and reporting in multiple currencies
10

An AI co-pilot for every role

Every role on the platform has its own co-pilot, working on that person’s own data and their own job. An administrator, a tutor, a student and an agent each get a different assistant rather than one generic chatbot bolted onto the side.

  • Admin: draft replies, interrogate reports, generate public catalog and course pages
  • Tutor: build courses, lesson plans and materials from a short brief
  • Student: an AI tutor for practice and questions between live lessons
Getting live

From decision to open marketplace

Most of the work is deciding how your marketplace should behave. The software is already there.

Step 1

Configure

Subjects, levels, lesson formats, roles, booking and cancellation rules, commission model and the currencies you will accept.

Step 2

Brand it

Your logo, your colours, your domain, your email sender and templates. Students never see the eTalk name anywhere.

Step 3

Connect

Payment gateway, Zoom, calendars and DNS. We handle migration if you already have tutors, students and lesson history elsewhere.

Step 4

Fill the catalog

Tutors apply through the onboarding wizard, complete their own profiles, and the public catalog goes live for students to book.

Who this is for

Marketplaces that work as a focused business

A few of the shapes this model takes. The common thread is a catalog narrow enough to fill with genuinely good tutors.

National tutoring marketplace for one country School exam preparation University admissions and test prep One language, taught by native speakers Music and instrument lessons Coding and STEM for children Chess, art and creative skills Professional certification coaching Corporate language training providers Diaspora and heritage language schools Special educational needs tutoring Agency networks with recruiting partners
FAQ

Tutoring marketplace questions

Do I need developers to run this?

No. The platform is configured rather than coded — subjects, roles, booking rules, commission, currencies and branding are all settings. There is no repository to maintain, no server to patch and no release cycle to manage.

Does eTalk take a percentage of my lesson revenue?

No. eTalk.ai is billed as a flat platform plan with usage-based add-ons for things like video minutes and third-party integrations. The commission split between your tutors and your company is yours to set and yours to keep.

Can I use a payment provider other than Stripe?

Stripe is supported out of the box. Domestic gateways can be connected where a local provider is what your students expect — tell us which market you are launching in and we will confirm what is involved.

Is the marketplace really on my own domain?

Yes. The catalog, the student and tutor portals, the onboarding wizards and the notification emails all run under your domain, your logo and your colours. Your students and tutors never encounter the eTalk brand.

Can tutors set their own rates and availability?

Yes, within the limits you define. Tutors manage their own calendar and profile, and you decide whether rates are set by the tutor, fixed by you, or bounded by a range.

I already have tutors and students in another system. Can we move them?

Yes. Migration support is part of onboarding, whether your current records live in another platform, a CRM or a set of spreadsheets.

Can I start with a simple school and add the marketplace later?

Yes. Many customers begin with the school plan — student profiles, scheduling, wallets and in-app communication — then switch on the public catalog and self-booking once they have enough tutors to make browsing worthwhile.
